Which Septic System Company Should You Hire?

How much do you know about septic systems? Furthermore, how much do you know about the company you are hiring?

If you answered anything less than “Everything” to the questions above, then you should proceed with caution when choosing who you hire to install your septic system.

There are several septic system companies in Ozark to choose from. Unfortunately, not every property owner is aware that just because these companies are licensed, doesn't mean they are knowledgeable.

It's Easy To Obtain A Septic System Installer License

In Missouri you are required to attend a short one-day class to obtain licensing from the state in order to install septic systems. To become licensed, it generally consists of sitting in a classroom environment, watching a power point presentation and taking an open book test. You only need a 70% score to get your installer's license. That means any installer you choose to hire may only know a percentage of what is correct vs. what isn't regarding an installation!

Once you have obtained your installer's license, you are required to obtain a certain number of CEU's (continued education classes) in order to renew your license. Unfortunately, these classes seldom provide much benefit toward advancing an installers knowledge and skills.. Therefore, holding a state license does not qualify a contractor as a good installer, let alone an expert installer.

More info on advanced treatment system licensing as well as extra required training and classes.

Missouri advanced treatment installer licensing consists of additional classroom training, a site visit of mock systems where you may be given an overview of these systems and another open book test. There is a little more math and algebra involved in this test. Again, you only need a 70% score to get your advanced installer's license. Once you have obtained your advanced installer's license, you are required to obtain a certain number of CEU's in order to renew your license.

Note:

Neither the installer's or advanced installer's license requires any in the field demonstration of skills or knowledge. You can get licensed to install septic systems with zero experience.

We have yet to attend any continued education classes in Missouri that involved any testing requirements.

What Does This Mean For You?

It means that choosing which septic system company to hire should be based on more than price or the mere fact that they are so called “licensed”. You should be considering not only experience, but those installers who have a vast amount of skill and knowledge.

We have been providing our services for over 28 years. We have obtained all necessary licensing with the state and are registered in all local counties as well.

Our experience and knowledge wasn't strictly obtained in the classroom, but rather in the field. We have installed hundreds of systems throughout the state and we understand the intricacies of excavation, plumbing, grades, slopes and the effectiveness of installed components within your septic system.

This first hand experienced has given us the wisdom and knowledge to approach each install we perform with precision. We understand how to effectively design your system based on the property's conditions and future usages.
