Conventional / Standard Septic Systems
Conventional septic systems, often referred to as a standard or basic septic system, is the most common type of wastewater treatment system for residential properties.
The two main components of this type of system include a septic tank and lateral lines. Missouri now has a minimum 1,000 gallon standard size requirement for septic tanks subject to the amount of bedrooms your residence serves.
In a conventional system, the tank provides very minimal treatment. The main treatment occurs at the soil interface through your dispersal system (lateral lines).
There are several different applications for your lateral lines when it comes to a conventional system. We can evaluate your property and soil conditions to determine which lateral field (drain field) is right for your conditions.

Advanced / Aerobic Treatment Septic Systems
Another type of septic system is an advanced treatment system. Some refer to this as an aerobic septic system or an aerated system.
In an advanced treatment system, additional treatment of the effluent is provided before dispersement into the soil. One featured component in many advanced treatment systems is a mechanical device that treats the effluent to a higher level of purity by adding air / oxygen to it before dispersement into the soil.
Another common feature of this type of system is to equally distribute the effluent (liquid waste) by means of low pressure distribution. This is often accomplished with the use of a sewage system pump.
These aerated systems are especially common for homes near or on Table Rock Lake due to the regulating authorities requiring a higher level of sewage treatment.
Our expertise as a Missouri licensed onsite wastewater advanced treatment installer is in the design and installation of your system. We measure each component's capabilities accurately to ensure that your system will operate and function long term.
Cluster / Community Systems
Cluster / decentralized community septic systems serve numerous homes connected to a collection system and a sewage treatment facility, commonly referred to as a sewage / wastewater treatment facility. These can be found at subdivisions, schools, RV parks, mobile home parks and condo associations.

Lift Stations
A lift station is designed to transfer wastewater from a lower elevation to a higher elevation, where the then transferred wastewater can be treated according to its designed application.
A lift station's design typically includes a deep concrete or fiberglass well for gravity fed collection and a power supplied control panel, which operates one or more sewage or grinder pumps. These pumps transfer the liquid waste through piping to the sewage treatment facility or city sewer.Learn more about our installation and repair services for lift stations.
Budgeting Factors For Septic Systems
If you're building a home or buying a lot and your budget is a factor, you'll want to determine your septic system requirements before before finalizing any plans.
There are many different factors that determine what type of septic system you will be required to have in place. These can include available space, lot size, soil conditions, elevations and more. Most of the time your septic system is going to be subject to the state and your local county's regulations and requirements.
Here's a few southwest Missouri county regulations.
When Your Budget Matters
If you're considering building a new home or perhaps buying a lot as your future residence, you may want to consult with us first to determine what type of septic system you will need to have installed and the potential costs associated with each type.
Already own the lot? That's fine, but before you decide to build you should make sure that your home won't interfere with the available space and soil quality. If there's not enough remaining space available for a conventional system or if you have poor soil conditions, then you might be required to have an advanced treatment system, which could easily result in an additional expense.
The costs associated with wastewater treatment systems can vary depending on your property's location and site conditions. Since lots and properties can be purchased without a wastewater treatment system in place and you decide to build later on down the road, determining your required type of septic system first is a step you can't afford to overlook if your budget is a factor.
